Passive RE investment

Hi, 

We own a couple of homes in the country and have first hand seen how difficult it is to manage the rentals remotely. 

Now, we are looking into going the passive investment route. We like single family, apartment, multi-family type investments. But don't want to purchase and manage anymore. What are some less complicated ways to go about passive investment? Just started reading about the crowdfunding platforms like fundrise and crowdstreet. Are these platforms a way to go or are there any other ways?
