Hi,

When I bought a home I purchased home insurance from Stillwater insurance company. After purchasing done they did inspection without letting us as we were not there they did not able to check backside of house because fence is locked. And there were few shingles was missing.as per this condition they cancelled my insurance policy. But unknowingly we did repair of roof like replace missing shingles.and have insurance for this roof shingles separately. And now because of they cancelled my insurance policy all insurance companies are saying they will not provide insurance for my home.

please advise me how to handle this situation.

Thanks

Neetu

Insurance companies don't typically cancel your policy immediately. They give you a 30 day notice of cancellation where you can often times still fix the underwriting concern and rescind the cancellation.

If that period has already passed and you currently have no insurance, that may be the reason why other companies won't write you a new policy. However, you should still be able to get a policy through the California FAIR plan or whatever it is called there. It is the insurer of last resort run by the state. Most insurance agents should be able to write that policy for you.
